Trauma Therapy
Individual sessions for adults: Support for adults navigating trauma, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm
Traumatic or challenging incidents, especially those from early childhood, often shape how we view ourselves and experience the world. We may find ourselves feeling stuck, anxious, disconnected from ourselves and others, or repeating patterns that no longer serve us.
Whether you’re struggling with emotional numbness, disconnection, intrusive thoughts, sleepless nights, chronic stress, relational challenges, or feelings of low self-worth, trauma-informed therapy can help you understand your patterns and begin to heal. Together, we’ll work to:
Explore the origins of emotional pain and self-protective patterns
Develop tools to help you manage anxiety, stress, and overwhelm
Strengthen self-compassion and emotional resilience
Reconnect with your authentic sense of self - the part of you that knows how to heal
Move from surviving to thriving
Nervous System–Informed
Understanding how the brain and nervous system respond to trauma is central to my work. In our sessions, we’ll create a safe, grounding space where your nervous system can begin to relax and trust again.
By learning to regulate your nervous system, you can create more moments of calm, safety, and connection. I’ll guide you through gentle, practical techniques to help you feel more grounded and present — supporting deep, sustainable change over time.
Healing isn’t about erasing the past; it’s about transforming your relationship with it, so you can move forward with greater peace, resilience, and self-understanding.

Have Questions?
It’s completely normal to have questions before starting therapy. Here you’ll find answers to some of the most common ones I’m asked.

Therapy is a collaborative process that emphasizes both reflection and action. Together, we’ll focus on building safety, strengthening coping skills and addressing the deeper roots of distress so you can move toward meaningful, lasting change. We’ll work together to guide the direction of our work to ensure it meets your needs.
-
The length of therapy varies for each person. It depends on your unique needs, goals, and life experiences. Some clients come for a few months to focus on a specific concern, while others stay longer to work through deeper, ongoing challenges.

We’ll decide this together. Many clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and safety, then shift to biweekly or monthly sessions as goals are met.
I do recommend weekly sessions for the first few weeks to help establish consistency and trust. -
Once your session is booked, I’ll email you initial paperwork through a secure platform. Please complete it at least 48 hours before our session.
If we’re meeting virtually, you’ll receive a secure link for your appointment.
Beyond that, there’s nothing you need to prepare — just bring yourself. -
Choose a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable. If possible, avoid sitting in the same place you work or study.
Have a glass of water, tissues, and maybe a notebook handy. Feel free to bring a cosy blanket or anything that may be of comfort to you ( a stuffy, fidget, anchoring object). To stay fully present, I recommend placing your phone on airplane mode during our session. -
If you’re unable to attend your session, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee (typically not covered by insurance).
I understand that emergencies happen, and I do my best to be flexible when possible.
If you don’t see your question here, please feel free to reach out.
I’d be happy to connect and provide more information.
