EMDR Therapy
EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based treatment for processing trauma or other distressing life experiences.
Experiencing trauma or ongoing stressful conditions can block the brain’s ability to recover from distressing events. Your mind and body may stay alert and ‘on-guard’, even in ‘safe’ situations. Rather than talking in detail about these events, EMDR therapy allows the brain and nervous system to resume its natural healing process through alternating eye movements, sounds, or taps.
As a Certified EMDR Therapist, I can help you:
Discover the origins of limiting beliefs in order to update old narratives about who you are, how you show up in the world and what you deserve
Increase your resiliency to meet life’s challenges, and increase awareness of thoughts, body sensations, behaviours, and self-protective parts of self
Alleviate trauma-related symptoms, such as chronic anxiety, intrusive memories, strong emotions, or difficulties in relationships, through a positive, growth-oriented process grounded in the philosophy that everyone is seeking wholeness and capable of healing
My own personal experiences with EMDR therapy, and seeing the positive shifts in my EMDR clients in session, inspires me to share this powerful modality so that others may also find healing.
